Founder & CEO, Fountainhead Commercial Capital
Chris Hurn is the Founder & CEO of Fountainhead Commercial Capital. Fountainhead is Hurn’s second entrepreneurial venture in SBA 504 lending. In 2002, he founded Mercantile Capital Corp., which specialized in lending to small business owners—first in Florida, then nationwide. Hurn sold Mercantile to Orlando-based Old Florida National Bank in late 2010. When Old Florida was acquired by IberiaBank in 2014, Hurn saw an opportunity to return to his entrepreneurial roots and create Fountainhead, not only making interim second mortgages as he did at Mercantile, but also focusing on ground-up construction loans and becoming an active first mortgage lender for SBA 504 loans. Chris is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania’s Fels Center of Government (part of the Wharton School of Business at that time). He received two undergraduate degrees, magna cum laude, from Loyola University Chicago.
